“At IOCB, your research can be truly interdisciplinary.”

One of the country’s prominent cancer researchers. Her discovery of the mitochondrial protein LACTB as a tumour suppressor, published in Nature, opened new avenues of thinking about how cancer-resistant tissues can aid in our fight against the disease. She is a recipient of the EMBO Installation Grant, and her work continues to shape our understanding of prevention and therapy.
